Rodica Dimitriu has taught and published articles and books in the fields of translation studies, British literature, reader-response criticism, cultural studies and ELT. She coordinates the translation programmes – undergraduate and MA levels – at the “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iaşi , Romania . She is a professor in the Department of English of this university, a member of the advisory board of several international journals for translation and interpreting studies, as well as a member of the European Society for Translation Studies (EST).

Cay Dollerup was the Director of Center for Translation Studies, University of Copenhagen between 1995-2006. He is currently an advisory professor of the Center for Translation Studies, East China Normal University , Shanghai . His books include Tales and Translation: The Grimm Tales from Pan-Germanic folktales to shared international fairytales (John Benjamins Publishing, 1999), and Denmark , 'Hamlet’ and Shakespeare: a study of Englishmen's knowledge of Denmark towards the end of the sixteenth century with special reference to 'Hamlet' (1975).

Cătălina Iliescu-Gheorghiu is a graduate of the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literatures, University of Bucharest, with a BA in Spanish and English (1989). She has lived in Alicante since 1990 being a senior lecturer at the University of Alicante after a PhD in Translation Studies (2002). Besides courses of Consecutive Interpreting between English, Spanish and Romanian she has taught courses of English and Romanian language, Errors in Translation and Research in Interpreting for various doctoral programmes. Cătălina Iliescu Gheorghiu is also an authorised translator and conference interpreter. She is the founder of “Wings” (2005), a cultural association that promotes cultural exchanges between Spain and Romania . Cătălina Iliescu is Director of the Cultural Centre of the University of Alicante - „Sede universitaria Ciudad de Alicante”. 

Eugene A. Nida, one of the most outstanding figures in the field of Translation Studies, was a consultant for the American Bible Society and the United Bible Societies between 1943 and 1981, President of the Linguistic Society of America in 1968, and Translations Research Coordinator for the United Bible Societies between 1970 and 1980. His involvement with Bible translating brought him into contact with over 200 languages and cultures in Asia, Australia , Africa and the Americas . His books Toward a Science of Translating (1964) and The Theory and Practice of Translation (1969, co-authored with Charles Taber) won him a great reputation, being widely used in (Bible) translator training worldwide. Nida is the author and co-author of more than 40 books and 250 articles.

Karl-Heinz Freigang is teaching and researching in the field of computer-aided translation tools, terminology management and computational linguistics in the training programme for future translators and interpreters at Saarland University , Saarbrücken , Germany . He is also a translator and the coordinator of the section for Linguistic Data Processing and Computer-Aided Translation at the Department for Applied Linguistics of this university.

Hortensia Pârlog has been a member of the English Department at the University of Timişoara since 1968. She served two terms as Secretary of ESSE (European Society for the Study of English). Professor Pârlog is the founder and editor of B.A.S./ British and American Studies journal. She has published articles in the field of English phonetics and phonology, lexicology, syntax, pragmatics and translation studies, and is the author, co-author or co-editor of several volumes and dictionaries.

Pia Brînzeu teaches English literature at the University of Timişoara. She was head of the English department between 1996 – 2004, and now serves a second term as vice-rector of the university. She was President of the Romanian Society of English and American Studies. She has published studies of literary theory and criticism in prestigious journals abroad.

Aba-Carina Pârlog is a lecturer in the Department of English at the University of Timişoara. Her fields of interest are postmodern literature and the theory and practice of specialized translation.. She has published numerous papers at home and abroad.
